Visit Museums:
Pic's from our Mariners' Museum trip. This 1st one is a stained glassed dome taken from The Spirit of Norfolk. The Museums' big claim to fame is The USS Monitor. The girls really were moved by the "Message in A Bottle" exhibit an artful collection of photos by two different artist depicting trash washed up on beaches and American consumption/waste. No photos allowed in that section. Andy Hughes and Chris Jordan are the artist.
We went on Sunday during one of the Free times, but I checked at the desk and we can get in for free anytime with our Charlotte County Historical Society Family Membership(best $35 we every sent!!!!). We have been before, attending different programs that they have offered in the past, but this is a big museum with lots to see and do....so knowing we can come back and explore at our leisure is supper cool!
They had Morse code booths set up in the Titanic Exhibit...the girls both made the instant connection to Marconi and the museum InfoAge we visited in Wall NJ back in April. They had fun coding out there names and words to each other.
We didn't get to check out the subs this time....which the girls love to play in and we want to check out a newer exhibit called Sea Glass...so we will plan to go back soon.
